# Accessibility at LiftLine AI

> The LiftLine AI accessibility statement, written from a measured audit rather than a conformance badge, listing known defects on both the website and the Snowcat iPhone app.

## What this page publishes

LiftLine AI is built by one person. That is not an excuse for an inaccessible product, but it does shape how this page reads: instead of a conformance badge, you get the actual state of the work — what we measured, what we know is broken, and how fast we will answer you.

_Last audited: 27 August 2026. Next audit: 1 March 2027._

## What we are aiming for

The website and web app target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The Snowcat iPhone app targets the same bar plus Apple's own accessibility expectations — VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Voice Control, Switch Control, Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast, and Bold Text.

**We do not currently meet that bar.** An internal audit on 27 August 2026 tested both products and found conformance gaps in both. The rest of this page is that audit, in plain language. We are not publishing a conformance claim or a VPAT until the blocking items below are closed and a real screen-reader pass has been run.

## What works today

Measured, not assumed.

- Signing in is accessible. Passkeys, Sign in with Apple, and Sign in with Google all work; the password field accepts paste and works with password managers; and there is no CAPTCHA anywhere in the product.
- The site reflows. At a 320-pixel-wide window nothing is cut off and nothing scrolls sideways. Increasing line height, letter spacing, and word spacing does not clip any text.
- Keyboard focus is visible when tabbing through links and buttons.
- The homepage animation respects Reduce Motion — it stops and holds its final frame, and carries a written description of what it shows. The day-of-week crowd chart carries its full data in text.
- Photographs have alternative text, and decorative images are correctly hidden from screen readers.
- Page structure is sound on the marketing site: one top-level heading per page, headings in order, and named navigation landmarks.
- On iPhone, most controls carry VoiceOver labels — 101 of them — and every icon-only button but one is named. Perpetual animations are all gated behind Reduce Motion.

## What is known-broken

Listed because you will hit them, not because we are comfortable with them.

### If you use a keyboard or a screen reader

- Lift cards cannot be opened with a keyboard. This is the single worst defect in the product.
- The hourly forecast chart has no text version. A full text table of every lift — status, current wait, trend, confidence, and when it last updated — is being built as the replacement, not as an afterthought.
- Wait times update every 30 seconds without announcing it, so a number you just read can change under you silently.
- Sign-in fields have no persistent label, and a failed sign-in is not announced.
- On a phone, the closed navigation menu is still reachable by keyboard, so focus can disappear off the bottom of the screen.
- Pinch-to-zoom is disabled on mobile. This is a one-line fix and it is first in the queue.

### If you have low vision or a colour vision difference

- Our crowd-level colours are too close together in brightness, so Light, Moderate, and Heavy can look identical in greyscale. Wherever we print the words you are covered; where only a coloured dot appears, you are not. We are adding a shape or a word to every one of those places.
- Light mode has worse contrast than dark mode. Switching to dark mode is a genuine workaround today. It should not have to be.
- Our orange buttons put white text on a light orange, measuring about 2.1:1 against a 4.5:1 requirement, on both the website and the app.
- Some small grey text is too faint — footer links, timestamps, captions, and the legal disclaimer.

### On Snowcat for iPhone

- Large accessibility text sizes break the first screen: the sign-in screen overlaps the status bar, the main button label is cut short, and the alternative sign-in button runs off the bottom. This is a hard blocker and is being fixed first.
- Increase Contrast currently does nothing — the app does not yet read that setting.
- Bold Text and Differentiate Without Color are not yet supported.
- The live rider map is not available to VoiceOver. The lift list is the workaround today.
- Closing a sheet does not return VoiceOver focus to where you were.
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets have no accessibility labels and use very small text.

### If you are sensitive to motion

- The falling-snow effect on the marketing pages ignores Reduce Motion.
- The homepage lift simulation cannot be paused manually, though it does stop for Reduce Motion.
- Several transitions inside the iPhone app still animate even when Reduce Motion is on.

## Where we have not looked yet

Being straight about the edges of the audit.

- No session with a real screen reader — VoiceOver, NVDA, or JAWS — has been run end to end. Our findings come from code, from the browser accessibility tree, and from automated tooling.
- Voice Control, Switch Control, and Full Keyboard Access have not been exercised.
- The watchOS companion app has not been audited at all.
- Screens behind sign-in on iPhone were reviewed in source but not driven with assistive technology.

If you use any of these and something breaks, you are telling us something we do not yet know. That report is worth more to us than a bug report about anything else.

## Tell us

Email accessibility@liftlineai.app. It is monitored and it reaches a person, not a queue.

Useful, but never required: the page or screen, what you were trying to do, the browser or iPhone model, and which assistive technology you were using. "The lift cards don't work with my keyboard" is a complete and welcome report.

| What happens next | When |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your message, by a person | Within 2 business days |
| We tell you whether we can reproduce it, and what we intend to do | Within 5 business days |
| If it blocks you from something the product does, we ship a fix or a documented workaround | Within 30 days |
| If the fix is longer than that, we tell you the date and add it to the known-broken list above | — |

If we do not answer in that window, reply to your own message. That is a failure on our side, not yours.

If you are stuck right now, email the same address and tell us what you were trying to find out. Lift status, wait forecasts, and conditions can be answered by hand, for any lift we cover, while a fix is in flight.

## How this page is maintained

This page is regenerated from an internal audit, not written from memory. Every item above traces to a measured finding. When a fix ships, the item moves out of known-broken and into the changelog rather than quietly disappearing.

- 27 August 2026 — first audit of both products; this page created.

_Figures measured August 27, 2026. Data from the synthetic "simulator" resort is excluded from every number._

## Use and provenance

This public Markdown companion removes navigation and presentation markup to make the canonical page easier for language models and text-based tools to interpret. It is not served selectively by user agent and does not replace the canonical human page. Product claims should remain consistent with the canonical page.
