SNOWCAT PRIVACY POLICY Last updated: September 29, 2026 Snowcat is made by Lucas Jaeger, doing business as LiftLine AI. This page explains what the Snowcat app (iPhone) and our websites collect, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work and to get better. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites. Liftie, our AI assistant, runs on our own server, so no outside AI company receives your chats. 1. WHAT WE COLLECT - An account ID. Snowcat creates one the first time it opens, so your settings, favorites and trips can be saved before you sign in. - Your email address, if you sign in. You can sign in with an email address and a password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email and we get a relay address instead. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by our database host; we never see them. - Your profile and settings. The name you choose, an account photo if you add one, your home resort, sport and level, saved resorts and lifts, theme and Home layout, notification choices, and the riding profile you build with Liftie (how you ride and what you like). - Liftie. When you chat with Liftie, your message and the rest of that conversation go to our own server, where the model runs, with the resort you have selected. The server adds your riding profile and Liftie's notes about you, and your name if you turn on Use my name. If you ask Liftie where you are, the app sends the names of the nearest lifts, not your coordinates. If you ask about a trip, Liftie reads that trip, including the names of the people in it. The server uses all of this to answer and does not save your messages. With Pro or Max, Liftie can save up to 40 short notes about how you ride with your account and uses them in later chats. With Max, Liftie also writes things just for you, such as your own Liftie's Report and personal lines on your cards; those are written on our server from the same profile and notes, unless your iPhone writes a card line itself. For each Liftie request we keep a record of who asked, when, what kind of request it was and whether it worked, without what you wrote, to count your messages, slow down bursts and fix problems. Free includes 20 messages in total; Pro includes 50 and Max 100 in any rolling 7 days. - Liftie feedback. If you rate something Liftie wrote with a thumbs up or down, we store your rating, the text you rated, a note if you add one, and where in the app it was, with your account ID, until you delete your account. Your own messages are not part of it. - Crowd reports. The lift, what you reported (the minutes you waited, the people in line, or that the lift is stopped), the time and your account ID. - Trips and friends. Trips you create and what you and your friends add to them: plans, stays, travel, checklists, polls, posts, replies, photos and expenses. Also your friends list, who you have blocked, and your trip name and photo. The people in a trip see what is in it. Your friends and the people in your trips can see your name, photo, home resort, plan badge and when you joined. A friend invite link shows your name and photo to whoever opens it; someone signed in to Snowcat who opens it also sees your home resort, plan badge and when you joined. - Photos you share. Trip photos and profile photos are uploaded to our database host. The app saves a fresh copy before uploading, which removes hidden details such as where the photo was taken. Your account photo is stored at a web address that anyone who has the link can open; trip photos are private to the trip. - Where you are, only with Pro or Max alerts on. If you have Pro or Max, Alerts are on, and you allow notifications and location, the app sends us which resort you are at and the nearest lift, with the time, so we alert you about the right mountain. We keep only the latest one and delete it when you turn alerts off. Your coordinates are not stored. - Your location for routes. When you plan a route from where you are, and when the Home screen or the map shows routes and suggested runs from where you are, the app sends your location to our route server to work out the route or the suggestions. It is used for that request and not stored; the server's technical log notes at most the lift or run a route started from. - Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token and a record of the alerts we sent you. Apple delivers them. - How the app is used, unless you turn it off. Which screens and features you open, with your account ID, a random ID for this install, a session ID, your plan, the resort you have selected, your device class (such as phone or tablet), the app and iOS version, and whether you are at a mountain (yes or no, never a location). If you allow location, the app works out that yes or no from your location on your phone, and we use it to understand how Snowcat is used on and off the mountain. - Purchases. You buy through Apple, and we never see your card. Apple tells us what you bought and when it renews or ends, and we store that with your account so the app knows your plan. - Connection details. Like any online service, our servers see your device's internet address when the app connects, and it can appear in their technical logs. We don't use it to find where you are or to build a profile of you. 2. SHARED TRIP LINKS The owner or an editor of a trip can create a link to a read-only page of the trip. Anyone with that link can see the trip's dates, resort, plans, stays, travel, posts, polls and photos, and the members' first names and photos. Expenses, checklists and replies are never on that page. The link can be turned off in the trip. Anyone in a trip can also create a calendar link, so the trip shows up in a calendar app. Anyone who has that link can read the trip's plans, stays and travel through it, with their times and places; it cannot change anything. Revoke it in the trip to stop it working. It also stops working when you leave the trip or delete your account. If Liftie is on for a trip, the trip's contents go to our own server so Liftie can post its updates. 3. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE - Your Liftie conversations, and the archive of up to ten past chats. - Your exact location. The app uses it on your phone to find the nearest lifts and show you on the map, except for the routes described above. - Photos you choose for resort cards. - The short lines on your cards when your iPhone writes them with Apple's on-device model, and Liftie's explanations of the conditions reports, which are only ever written that way. - Widget data. - Your calendar. Snowcat never reads it; a trip gets into it only through a calendar link. - Crash reports. Snowcat has no crash reporter. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us crash reports. 4. WHO ELSE HANDLES YOUR INFORMATION Liftie, the route planner and alerts run on our own server, in the United States. These companies handle the rest: - Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and file storage, in the United States. - Apple handles purchases, notifications and Sign in with Apple. Apple Maps search (places and drive times for a trip) and WeatherKit (the weather at a resort) are Apple services too; the app asks Apple for them directly. - Google handles sign-in, only if you choose Sign in with Google. - Amazon Web Services hosts our website and the gateway that connects the app to our server. - Resend sends our account emails, such as the welcome email and the email that confirms your address. We share information with these providers only so they can run their part of Snowcat for us, and each is bound to protect it at least as well as this policy does. Some things load straight from other services, which see your internet address and what is loading; we send them nothing about you. Map imagery comes from Esri and terrain data from Amazon. Webcam video plays from YouTube, which may set its own cookies. Webcam images load from the resorts' own servers. We sometimes use outside AI tools, including Anthropic's Claude, to read public resort news. They never receive anything about you. 5. ON THE WEB liftlineai.app loads its fonts from Google, which sees your internet address. If you ask to be told when something launches, we store your email, the page you signed up on and your browser type, and use them only for that. LiftLine on the web (ride.liftlineai.app) uses the same account as the app. If you turn on nearby-lift alerts there, your browser tells us which lift you are close to, and the alert goes through your browser's push service. The web no longer sells anything. A few older web subscriptions are still billed through Stripe, which handles that payment. 6. LIFTIE IN OTHER AI APPS You can add Liftie to Claude, ChatGPT or Grok as a connector. It needs no account and answers only public resort information. Your conversation stays with that app and is handled under its own privacy policy (Anthropic's, OpenAI's or xAI's). The app sends Liftie only the lookup it needs, such as the conditions at Mammoth. For each lookup we record which tool was used, the resort asked about, which AI app sent it and its version, whether it worked and how long it took. To count how many people use it, each caller is stored as a code that changes every day, so we can't follow anyone from one day to the next or trace a code back to them. Like every request to our servers, our gateway's web server log records the internet address a request came from. 7. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT - Your account, profile, trips, friends, favorites, Liftie notes and feedback, notification settings and the record of alerts we sent you: until you delete them or your account. - Usage data: 90 days. After that we keep only daily totals that don't identify anyone. - Liftie request records: details such as timing are cleared after 90 days; the time of each request stays until you delete your account. - Liftie connector lookups from other AI apps: 90 days. After that we keep only daily totals that don't identify anyone. Our gateway's web server logs: 14 days. - Our server's logs of Liftie requests, model calls and batch jobs: 30 days. Other logs on our servers hold technical details, such as account IDs and errors, never your Liftie chats; they are rotated by size or cleared by us. - Your resort for alerts: only the latest, deleted when you turn alerts off. - Crowd reports: kept. If you delete your account, your account ID is removed from them. - Backups: our database host keeps backups for a limited time. Deleted information leaves them as they are replaced. 8. YOUR CHOICES - Use Snowcat without signing in. - Location: allow, decline or change it in iOS Settings. Without it, nearest lifts, routes from where you are and mountain alerts don't work. - Alerts: Settings › Notifications. - Usage data: Settings › About & support. Turning it off also deletes what was already sent. - Liftie: turn it off in Settings › Liftie AI. While Liftie is on, read and delete its notes in Settings › Liftie AI › What Liftie remembers. - Trip links and calendar links: turn them off in the trip. - Delete your account: Settings › Profile › Delete account (Profile is the row with your name at the top of Settings). If you never signed in, email us and we will delete your information. - Ask for a copy of your information, or to correct it: email us. We will help wherever you live. 9. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT Deleting your account removes your sign-in, profile, riding profile, Liftie notes, records and feedback, favorites, saved resorts, notification settings and history, push tokens, your resort for alerts, usage data, calendar links, friends, trips only you are in, and the posts, replies, photos and expenses you added to trips. Other things you added to a trip other people are in, such as plans, stays and polls, stay for them without your name. If you own a trip that other people are in, hand it over or delete it first. Two things stay, with your account removed from them: your crowd reports, and a record that a purchase existed, so Apple's renewal and refund notices can still be matched. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in Settings › your Apple Account › Subscriptions. Deleting the app removes what is on your phone. 10. CHILDREN Snowcat is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it. 11. SECURITY We use encrypted connections and limit who can reach your information. No system is perfectly secure. 12. CHANGES We will update this page when what we collect changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. 13. CONTACT Lucas@liftlineai.app
